Who we are:

Abigail and Emma write are the duo behind award-winning theatre company A&E Comedy. Their first show Enter the Dragons won Broadway Baby Bobby Best Show Brighton Fringe 2018. Their follow up show Witch Hunt was nominated for a second Broadway Baby Bobby and the Infallibles Award for theatrical excellence. They studied Scriptwriting for Film and Television at the University of Sussex and have gone on to write a number of scripts for television and film. Their script Invisible was shortlisted for the Screenshot Competition and their sitcom “What Next?” won the prestigious Sitcom Mission Competition. The clown show, Signor Baffo they created for Oh Productions! is currently touring in Europe, China and Australia and has been translated into Chinese and is soon to be performed in Arabic.

 

Abigail Dooley

Abigail studied at East 15 drama school, Ecole Philippe Gaulier and ArtHaus Berlin. She also trained with Theatre de Complicite, Monika Pagneux, John Wright, Keith Johnstone and Jos Houben. As a performer/deviser she has created work with many companies including Compagnie Philippe Gaulier, Trestle Theatre Company, Told by an Idiot, Keith Johnstone, The Gate Theatre and Royal & Derngate’s stage adaption of Jacques Tati’s Playtime!, in which she played 30 characters. She directed the magic show “Norvil and Josephine” and “The Magic of Christmas” at the NEC, a live Christmas Event with five performance areas including street theatre, UV puppet show and a promenade pantomime. Specializing in devised theatre, she teaches at drama schools, universities and theatres, including The National Theatre, Rose Bruford, Mountview, ArtHaus Berlin and Middlesex University.

Emma Joy Edwards

Emma has created shows for young audiences encouraging imagination and mischief and devises interactive experiences designed to get people involved and spark joy. As associate director of Get Lost and Found she creates interactive immersive experiences including “Mischief and Mystery  in Moominvalley” commissioned by Moomin Characters for The Southbank Imagine Festival. Emma trained in clown at Ecole Philippe Gaulier, She has a Masters with Distinction in Comedy Writing from Falmouth University and specialises in teaching script-writing, story and comedy. She has taught extensively in schools, theatres and universities including The National Theatre, Monash University and the Ministry of Culture in Saudi Arabia. She co-created and delivered a training programme for teachers which has now been delivered to 24,000 participants across Eastern Asia.
